Sunday May 24th, 2026, at 11am

Where-

Speeds Billiards

700 N Watson Rd

Arlington, TX 76011

Time-

Every other Sunday from 11:30am-130pm

Juniors are welcome to come in at 11am to practice before their match start time of 11:30am.

Doors open at 11am

Age Limit-

7 years old to 17 years old at sign ups

Parent/Guardian must be present with Junior or have prior arrangements communicated with LO

Entry Fee and Biweekly Dues-

Full Entry Fee- $50 will be due on or by May 17th, 2026

The entry fee is non-refundable after week 1

This entry does not go towards league fees; this goes towards the overall pot and ensures a junior’s commitment to this session.

Each bi-weekly match will cost $20 per junior which has to be paid electronically ONLY.

When you send a payment ALWAYS include the week(s) you are paying for in the notes.

You can pay for the entire session up front you want

IF YOU PLAY A MATCH THEN PAY THE DUES!!!!!!!

2 Separate Divisions-

To make things more even, fair, and competitive. We are going to split the Juniors division into 2 separate divisions. One higher Fargo one and one lower Fargo one. So basically, the top half higher Fargo’s will be together, and the lower half lower Fargo’s will be together. They will be separate and will never play with each other. In both divisions each Junior will play with each other twice.

Schedule-

Once I have all the players signed up, then I will create the schedule. Each junior will play all other Juniors twice this session.

This session will be on a bi-weekly schedule

If the Junior cannot make it for whatever reason they must reschedule that match

You don’t always have to go by the schedule-

If you show up to your match and the opponent is not there, feel free to play a different opponent

If you know you are going to be out of town, or not available on a future date and you can play a match(s) ahead of schedule

Format for Lower Fargo Division-

Each match consists of 2 matches. 1 in 8 ball and 1 in 9 ball.

8 Ball Scotch Doubles Rules-

It is played with an adult. The adult can be parent/guardian/family member or friend. The adult partner can vary from week to week. This match will be a race to 2 wins against another junior on the schedule and their adult. In this scotch doubles match, the adult can coach the junior the entire match from anywhere. The adults can come to the table to coach. The winner of this match will receive 2 bonus points for a win and the loser gets 0 unless they make it to the hill they will get 1 point.

Breaking and Racking-

Home junior or home adult will break first, this will be an option (depending on if the junior can break well). The home team will be designated on the schedule. After the first break, the teams will alternate breaks.

The adult partner can break on the Scotch Doubles match if the Junior is unable to

If you foul on the break such as a miscue, it's your opponent’s option to break.

Rack your own, you can use a template if you want but I don’t provide those.

You cannot win or lose the game on the break during the 8-ball game.

The 8 ball does not count on the break. If you do, make the 8 on the break the shooter can either spot the ball and that team can continue shooting from the position they are in or they can re-rack and the same shooter that broke will break again.

After the break, a scratch on the 8 does not mean you lose. It is ball in hand for your opponent but if you scratch on the 8 and both the 8 and cue drop it is a loss.

Early 8 at any time is a loss.

If you pocket the 8 in the wrong pocket, it is a loss.

9 ball Singles Rules-

This match is between just the two juniors scheduled for that week and will consist of a total of 4 racks. So, each Junior will have a chance to break twice. Each ball dropped will be 1 point and for every 9-ball made that junior would get 10 points. The max points a junior can score per game is 10. (ex. One junior will get 10 points per game, and the other will get points based on how many balls they drop per game)

THERE IS NOT A 3 FOUL RULE

THERE IS NO COACHING FROM THE CHAIR ON THIS MATCH. THERE IS ONE TIMEOUT PER RACK. PLAYERS WITH FARGOS 301 AND ABOVE HAVE TO CALL THIS TIMEOUT ON THEIR OWN, PLAYERS WITH A 300 FARGO OR BELOW, THE PARENT/GUARDIAN/HELPER CAN ALSO CALL THIS TIME OUT.

Breaking and Racking-

Rack your own

Alternate breaks

Templates can be used but you must bring your own. If you use a template, you must give the option to your opponent to use it as well. Please inform your opponent if you plan on using a template.

2 ball goes in the back of the rack

The 9 ball counts in any pocket off the break.

If you foul on the break, such as a miscue or scratch then it's your opponent’s option to break.

Pushing-

You can push after the break. If you do so, your opponent has the option to shoot from that position or give it back to you.

Matches to be Played-

Each junior will have 2 scheduled matches per month.

There might be some Sundays in a month when Speed’s has a tournament and/or other events happening. Be mindful of these events as tables might not be available to play matches on these days. If any other event happens during a Sunday of any month during the session I will try notifying you so you can plan your match(s) accordingly.

*All matches must be completed by the last Sunday scheduled match*

What can a Junior win from this Session?

Kind in mind, these are not guarantees. For these prizes to happen we would need the right number of Juniors in each division, collect all fees, and hope no Junior drops from the session. So, there are some moving parts that could affect the prizes.

Each junior will be asked to fill out a Wish List.

There will be 2 Grand Prize winners from this lower division. This is how it would work. 1 of the 2 will win a Grand prize from winning first place in the session. The other 1 will come from winning the Playoff Tournament.

Playoff Tournament-

Date TBD

Each Junior will get a chance to play in this tournament. Excluding 1st place from the session.

This tournament will take place after the session is over.

Each Junior that completes all their matches and pays all their fees will be included in this tournament.

This will be a seeded tournament

It will be Double Elimination

It will be 8 ball on the winners side and 9 ball on losers side

The Top winners of this tournament will win the Grand Prizes

Grand Prize-

The top winner(s) of the Playoff Tournament can choose their prize.

  1. 1 night stay at Great Wolfe Lodge
  2. Mega Prize from their wish list

General Match and League Information

Join the DCTX Juniors League Private FB Group.

Played on 7-foot Diamond tables.

Modified BCA Rules.

Players must be in the DFW area.

This will be reported to Fargo.

If juniors are having trouble scheduling a match, please reach out to LO.

If anyone thinks there might be a foul on a shot, please call me or someone that is not involved in that match to watch the shot. If you do not call someone over it is going to go to the shooter. You can also record the shot if it is going to be a close hit. If you cannot find someone my suggestion would be to film, the shot in slow motion.

If teams have a disagreement on something and can’t come to a fair conclusion, they can re-rack that one rack and the original breaker breaks.

Jumping is allowed

If the cue ball is pocketed or jumps off the table it is ball in hand for the opponent.

If any other ball jumps off the table on the break or any other time it is a foul and the ball stays down and it is ball in hand for the opponent.

A 45 second shot clock can be enforced by a team if another team is taking a long time in between shots. A LO warning must be given first. If a shot clock is enforced both teams are on it.

Stale mate- if any team is not advancing the game and after 3 foul shots by each team (so 6 fouls total), then re-rack and the original breaker breaks.

Unsportsmanlike conduct will not be tolerated. Depending on the situation, the LO could decide if the conduct should have disciplinary action, such as warnings, hard warnings, BIH fouls, game loss, or a forfeit of the entire match (which would take a lot).

Forfeits-

If a junior has a match and is a no call no show that could be considered a forfeit.

If a junior has a match and needs to cancel, please do so within a 24-hour timeframe of the 11:30am start time. Some teams drive a long way to get there and that takes gas and time.

If a junior cancels more than once it could be considered a forfeit.

All forfeit points will be 30

The junior forfeiting will get 0 points.

Both juniors are still responsible for league fees in a forfeit. Even if you don’t play the match.

A forfeit match counts as a completed match once dues are paid for it.

Potential Ties-

If there are 2 juniors tied at the end, then the tie breaker will be determined by who won during the session between their matches.

If more than 2 juniors are tied, then the tie breaker will be the highest win % between them.

If there are still juniors tied after this, then those juniors would play a tie breaking match. This won’t be determined until the very end.

Communication-

For this schedule to run smoothly it will take effort and communication. I ask that you please respond to any team if they reach out to you. It takes a few moments to respond via Facebook, text, or call. Even if that response is to say you are not available, most people appreciate a response more than no response at all.

Eligible Players-

If Junior has no Fargo or APA ranking, LO will assign Fargo rating.

11 years or younger will start at 250 Fargo

12 years or older will start at 300 Fargo

If you have an established Fargo, then I will go by that.

If the junior does not have an established Fargo but has an APA ranking, then it will go by the chart below. Must have a min 10 recent matches played. Also, the Fargo can be determined by LO decision based on known ability.

Fargo/APA SL Chart

APA SL 1=250

APA SL 2=300

APA SL 3=350

APA SL 4=400

APA SL 5=450

APA SL 6=500

7s, 8s, 9s=TD decision

It will always go by the highest Fargo

Non-Eligible Players-

18 years or older

Players who will be 18 in 2026

Juniors whose Fargo is established over 500

Juniors whose Apa ranking is 6 or above

Dropouts-

If any Junior drops out of the league they must pay all their fees or they will not be able to play in this league again.

Sanction Fees-

Each year there is a $20 BCA sanction fee due for each junior player. If a junior has already paid this fee this year, then it will not be due again until 2027. If Junior is new to BCA or has not paid this fee in 2026 from any another league, then it will be due up front. This is due every year. So, when this league goes into 2027 then every junior will have to repay the $20 sanction fee for the 2027 calendar year. This fee goes to BCA not to this league.

Scoring-

We will be using the BCA scoring app to score matches. Scoring on the app is simple and we will go over it Week 1. Don’t worry about scoring, we have multiple parents in this Juniors league that are familiar with the scoring app and that will be more than willing to help when needed.

End of Session Banquet-

Date TBD

After the session is over and after the Playoff Tournament is over, we will have a party at Speeds, and we will cater food and play games and give out prizes

The number of weeks, winners, and scheduled matches are subject to change based on the number of teams in the league.

Guidelines are subject to change and will be updated as needed.

LO will take 10% for admin fees

Format for higher Fargo Division-

Each match consists of 2 matches. 1 in 8 ball and 1 in 9 ball.

Each Junior in this division will play their opponent in a race to 2 in 8 ball and then play 4 racks of 9 ball afterwards. We feel this will make the Juniors be in a more competitive environment and this will also increase their Fargo robustness, which in turn will level out their Fargo which is very important at BCA tournaments. Especially at Nationals in Las Vegas.

In this higher division for 8 ball scoring, it will be 10 points for the winner of each game and loser of each game will get 1 point per ball made per rack.

For 9 ball scoring it will be the same scoring as the 8 ball scoring above.

In this division, each Junior will get 1 timeout per rack, but they must call the timeout themselves. No parent, coach, friend, etc can call the timeout.

Breaking and Racking-

Home junior break first. The home team will be designated on the schedule. After the first break, the Juniors will alternate breaks.
