Tournament Guidelines
10-Ball
Official DCTX 10-ball tournament rules and guidelines.
01
Racking
- The 1 ball is positioned on the spot with the 2 and 3 balls in the back corners.
- The 10 goes in the middle.
- Players may bring their own templates, though they’re optional.
02
Breaking
- Players flip a coin to determine the opening break, then alternate thereafter.
- If you foul on the break such as a miscue, it’s your opponent’s option to break.
- The 10 ball doesn’t count if made during the break and must be respotted if pocketed.
03
After the Break
- The 10 ball can be a combo shot after the break for a win. Must be called.
- Players may push after the break — if declined by the opponent, play passes to the next teammate in rotation.
04
Balls Off the Table
- If the cue ball is pocketed or jumps off the table, it is ball in hand for the opponent.
- Other balls jumping off count as fouls.
- If the 10 jumps off, it’s respotted with ball in hand awarded to the opponent.
05
Illegally Pocketed Balls
- When a ball is pocketed improperly, your opponent has the option to shoot from where the cue is or give it back for you to shoot.
No 3-Foul Rule
